Lamda English Drama & Musical Theatre

After reopening following the festive season, Artemocion Dance & Leisure Studio’s English Drama and Musical Theatre students, who follow the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts (LAMDA) syllabus, recently sat for their examinations for 2026

Students from Mellieħa, St Paul’s Bay, Mġarr, and even Ħad-Dingli were thoroughly prepared by Ms Lesley Nixon, who has been part of Artemocion Studio since its establishment in 2003, and Ms Jessica Farrugia, a highly dedicated and supportive teacher.

Under the leadership and mentorship of Ms Nixon, who is also a lecturer at the University of Malta, students have consistently achieved excellent results in previous examinations.

LAMDA (London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts) is a world-leading drama school and examinations provider, inspiring and training exceptional artists for over 160 years. Founded in 1861, it is the oldest specialist drama school in the British Isles and a founding member of the Federation of Drama Schools. Recognising the academy’s high standards, Artemocion Studio introduced the LAMDA syllabus in 2003 following a meeting with Ms Nixon.

Drama and Musical Theatre play an important role in helping introverted individuals overcome shyness, improve diction, and develop clearer articulation. We are proud to have witnessed remarkable transformations in several students who grew in confidence, becoming strong communicators, with some now working in the media. Their achievements are our greatest reward.
